Here at the Walk-In Ministry of Hope the volunteers are the "heart beat" of the organization. We could not operate without the dedication of community members who understand the needs of those in crisis and volunteer to lend a hand. There are many ways one can help at the WIMOH.

Most of our volunteers sit with clients and assess their needs during our hours of operation. During the interview process, the volunteer and client determine the type of assistance that will best meet the client's needs. The assistance distributed can come in the form of food vouchers, transportation, prescription drug help, job lists or a host of referrals to organizations that can provide long-term help. One of the most priceless forms of assistance provided by WIMOH volunteers is a caring and listening ear to community members in crisis.

There are other volunteer opportunities outside of the office that are just as valuable and critical to our success. The Walk-In Ministry of Hope currently has a need for volunteers in our funding, publicity and office operations committees. Hands are needed for these projects to ensure that clients continue to receive quality service and to meet the growing community need!

If you would like more information about becoming a volunteer, please call the WIMOH office at 630-322-9803, or e-mail volunteer@wimoh.org. Thank you for your interest!
